Former Christ Reformed Member Makes the News!

Ben Sasse, (who together with his wife Missy, were members at Christ Reformed before Ben began Ph.D. work at Yale), has contributed an essay (co-written with US Senator from Texas, John Cornyn) on health care.

You can read it here:

After completing his Ph.D. at Yale, Ben became U.S. assistant secretary of health and human services, and now teaches at the University of Texas and advises health investors.

Friends in Mammoth Lakes California

Several Christ Reformed families took a well deserved vacation among the mountains in Mammoth Lakes California the week of August 9th. They were joined by several others who drove up to get together for a hike into the wilderness.  There was great food, fellowship and of course fantastic stargazing during the Perseids meteor shower.

At 6am on August 14th seven men started from Agnew Meadow along the Pacific Crest Trail toward Thousand Island Lake and then via the John Muir Trail back to their start point, for 17 miles of beautiful vistas and lakes and 3,000 feet of climbing.

While out of the trail they may not have found themselves, but they did find plenty of mosquitoes and blisters.

Church Members in the News

It’s always nice to have some great news to share about our church members.  For those of you who know Kevin Hermansen I am sure you will appreciate the following article from the Orange County Register.

Some Old Friends Say "Hi"

Pastor Riddlebarger ran into some old friends on Sunday (June 22) at the Coram Deo URC in Denver.  The Kims (Will and Olga, along with their three children) and the McGoverns (Jack and Christie, and their triplets)  are now members there.

Both Will and Jack are serving Coram Deo as elders.  They wanted to say "hi" to all their old friends @ Christ Reformed.
