News from the Land of the Reformation!

Greetings in the precious name of our Savior!

I hope this message finds you well! I thank the Lord for your interest in the work in Germany. It is time for an update!

We just had the annual Heidelberg Conference on Reformed Theology, with Dr. Kim Riddlebarger on "Eschatology". It was a wonderful conference and his teaching was received well. In conjunction with the conference, his book "Amillennialism" was presented in German translation to him.

Seminar for the Men of Christ Reformed Church: October 17, 2015

Men of Christ Reformed - Save the Date! On Saturday, October 17, 2015, we will be hosting our second annual seminar geared at preparing men for church office, both the particular offices of elder and deacon, but also the general office of believer (i.e., all men are encouraged to attend!).

When men are active in the church, leading their families and serving their brothers and sisters in the congregation, churches are strengthened and blessed in special ways. Come enjoy a time of learning, spiritual growth, and fellowship with other men at Christ Reformed Church!

Speakers for this event are:

Rev. Dr. Kim Riddlebarger
Rev. Chris Coleman
Rev. Andrew Compton

More information about the talks will be coming soon. Mark your calendars and join us on October 17!

(Review) It has been a pleasure for me to learn more about Warfield as a colleague of Kim Riddlebarger. To my mind, Kim is a lot like Warfield: lucid and learned, measured and careful with his judgments, yet bold just where it's needed. This book exposes us to Warfield on his own terms, and usually in his own words. -- Michael Horton, J. Gresham Machen Professor of Systematic Theology and Apologetics, Westminster Seminary California

Dale and Nancy Knutson - Cambodia

Medical outreach with local personnel and short term teams have been a way of bringing people to the church. We are glad to be a part of this experience.

Adult Sunday School

Rev. Compton is teaching a short series on Eastern Orthodoxy for our current Adult Sunday School class. Many in the Reformed tradition know how to respond to the claims of Roman Catholicism, but find themselves at a loss to understand the relationship between Eastern (and Oriental) Orthodoxy and the Protestant Reformation.

Come join us at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings where Rev. Compton will teach about the history and theology of the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox churches. For a textbook, we will utilize Robert Letham's book Through Western Eyes, Eastern Orthodoxy: A Reformed Perspective (Mentor, 2007), supplementing with materials from other books on the topic.
